Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026  ·  Captiofy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Captiofy uses, and how you can manage your preferences. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as your preferred language or login state — to make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage, which are governed by this same policy.

2. Cookies we use

Cookie / Key Type Purpose Duration
captiofy_session Essential Maintains your authenticated session once you log in to the Captiofy dashboard. Session (deleted when browser closes)
captiofy_csrf Essential Security token to prevent cross-site request forgery attacks on form submissions. Session
captiofy_cc_lang Essential Remembers the subtitle language preference the viewer selected in the player. 1 year
captiofy_cookie_consent Essential Stores your cookie consent decision so we don't ask you again on every visit. 1 year
_captiofy_analytics Analytics Anonymous visit and page-view tracking to understand how users navigate the site and where they drop off. Data is aggregated and never linked to individual identities. 13 months
stripe_mid / stripe_sid Essential Set by Stripe to enable secure payment processing. Required for checkout functionality. Session / 1 year

We do not use advertising, remarketing, or third-party tracking cookies. We do not share cookie data with advertising networks or data brokers.

3. Essential vs. non-essential cookies

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the website or service to function. We do not need your consent to set them, and they cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Analytics cookies are non-essential and require your consent. They help us understand usage patterns so we can improve the service. If you decline analytics cookies, the site works exactly the same — we simply won't have anonymous data about your visit.

4. Cookie consent

When you first visit captiofy.com, we display a cookie banner asking for your consent for non-essential (analytics) cookies. Your choice is stored in the captiofy_cookie_consent cookie for one year.

You can change your consent preference at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the footer or by clearing your browser cookies and reloading the page.

5. How to manage cookies in your browser

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will affect core functionality. Browser-specific guides:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or changes in applicable law. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated via the cookie banner.
